Our library has a variety of items and materials available:
Audio-visuals - Audio visuals include all equipment, videos, CD ROMs, maps, charts, teacher kits, teacher sets, audiotapes, poster sets, etc. These items are checked out by teachers for classroom use.
Computers - Currently, we have nine workstations for students and a scanner. We have a variety of software available for students and teachers.
Students have access to the Internet but must have an Internet Card. Students may get an Internet Card by getting parent permission by signing our Acceptable Use Policy form. This form will be given to your child at the beginning of the year and returned to school. Your child will receive a card that must be carried with them at all times. Students failing to show proof will not be permitted to access the Internet.
Students also have access to the Kentucky Commonwealth Virtual Library (KCVL). KCVL is a state operated gateway to on-line full-text magazines articles, indexes, and encyclopedias.
Fiction Books - These are chapter books about imaginary characters, places, or things. These books may also be based on real life events or people. Fiction books are arranged with an "F" and the first three letters of the author's last name. Be sure to check the OPAC to help you find a book.
Nonfiction Books - These are factual or informational books arranged by the Dewey Decimal System 000-999. Be sure to check the OPAC to help you find a book.
Periodicals - The last five years of magazines are available for check out or for research purposes. For a list of magazines click here.
Professional Books - Professional books are checked out to teachers and parents. These books are labeled with a "P" and the Dewey Decimal System 000-999 about teaching ideas and activities and the development and rearing of children.
Reference Books - These are factual or informational books labeled with an "R"and arranged by the Dewey Decimal System 000-999. Reference books are used during school and can not be checked out. However, we do have some older encyclopedias that may be checked out over night.
