BSMS Summer Reading Lists - Lists were sent to our feeder schools.  Copies were provided by:  Ms. Isaacs for SIP, Ms. K. Smith for 6th, Ms. Minke for 7th.  Copies were emailed to the Library Media Specialist at feeder schools for elementary schools.    Extra copies can be picked up in the library or guidance office.  Attention all 8th grade parents - Summer reading lists for high school are available.  Students were given copies by Ms. Goode for BSHS.  Most high schools have the list available on thier school web sites.   Copies are also available in BSMS library.  BSMS summer reading lists were also sent the Lexington Public Library, Barnes & Noble, and Joseph Beth so copies could be ordered and available for you.

*  Mr. Diaz and Ms. Isaacs were invited to Washington DC June 3rd to receive an award for BSMS from Congress for being a Green Ribbon School.  Click here for the full document of the award ceremony.

*  Congratulations to over 400 students for scoring Proficient or Distinquished in one or more areas for the 2014 Unbridled Learning KPREP Assessments!  Students were recognized in an award ceremony for their accomplishments.  Go Bearcats!  We are all proud of you!

*  Congratulations to Battle of the Books - Tatianna Hudson, Madison Giles, & team captain, Zach Henz!  Our team came in 2nd place in the district finals!  You can catch the competition on Channel 13.

Bryan Station Middle tapped as a national Green Ribbon School!

*  Congratulation to Kyle Roy!  He participated with the high school bass club regional.  His boat come in 33rd out of 98 high school boats!  Way to Kyle for your 1st trip out!

 *  Congratulations to those performing  at the solo & ensemble festival. Jacob Tellman recieved a proficient rating – Trumpet solo.   Jonathan Hicks recieved a Distinguished rating – French Horn solo.  Abigail Garner received a Distinguished rating – Oboe solo.   Joshua Hardin & Colin Ferguson received a Distinguished rating - trumpet/trombone duet.  Robert Clark, Jack Marletta, & Cole Blancett recieved a Distinguished rating – Brass Trio.

*  Congratulations to our Alpha League!  This group was spotlighted on a Partners for Youth event!

 *  Congratulations to our Girls Academy!  Here is an article about the lesson the girls were a part of on trustworthiness.  Check it out!

*  Congratulations to BSMS for our 2015 Kentucky (K-12) Green Ribbon School Award - Thank you Ms. Isaacs and Mr. Diaz for encouraging us! Picture with KY 1st Lady!

 *  Congratulations to our Robotics Club!   They won 1st place statewide in the STLP SumoBot tournament at Rupp Arena. This is Bryan Station’s first win at the state level. Earlier this year these same students won 1st, 2nd AND 3rd place in their regional tournament at Beaumont.  We are proud of you!

* 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Orchestras all received distingished rates at their KMEA assessment!  Way to go!!

*  FCPS MS Honors Orchestra - Thirteen of our students were accepted into the Honors Orchestras.  Congratulations to Madeline Farrar who received the highest violin score and will be 1st chair & 1st violin in the Top Orchestra.  Congratuations to Logan Florence who received the highest cello score and will be 1st chair cello in the Top Orchestra.  Caeyln Walton Macaulay received the second highest bass score and will be 2nd chair bass in the Top Orchestra.  Also congratulations to:  Kangai Miriti, Cate Margolies, Brendley Nathaniel, Eve Blackburn, Annalesse Bosch, Lauran Owens-Mundy, Leo Tapia, Allison Chavez, Taylor Cleveland & Amelia Hunter!

*  Congratulations to Andrew Lewis!  He won 3rd place in the regional science fair competition!  Way to go Andrew!

*  Congratulations!!  BSMS Alpha League has been invited to tour the state capital and speak to senators on the "Qualities of a Leader".    Bryson Fields will also  receive an award for saving a peers life.

*  Congratulations to Mrs. Payne!  Sarah Payne of Bryan Station Middle School represented Kentucky in School Band and Orchestra magazine’s annual roundup of “50 Directors Who Make a Difference,” which highlights some of the best music educators across the country. The honorees were nominated by readers, including current and former students, colleagues and peers, parents, and other supporters. Please click here for the full article.

*  Congratulations to our Girls Academy!  They were pictured in Top Magazine for attending the Martin Luther King Jr Unity Day Breakfast!

*  Congratulations to Amy Wilson!  She is now a National Board Certified Teacher!

*  Congratulations to our Jazz Band!  They performed  at Natasha’s Bistro on March 14th.  They also performed with the BSHS Jazz Band at a dance at the Oleika Shrine Temple.

*  Congratulations to 11 students who were accepted into All-County Honors band!  They are: Gabriel Paucar, Jacob Tellman, James Robinson, Mason Gohde, Amber Nunnery, Addison Hollingshead, Ben Byars, Josie Grant, Joshua Hardin, Jonathan Hicks, & Zach Henz!

*  Congratulations to Andrew Swisher and Jack Marletta!  They auditioned and were accepted to perform with the CKYO Jazz Orchestra!

*  The Dance Team won 1st Place in the Hip-Hop Category & 1st Place for Best Choreography out of 47 teams at a recent competition. Coaches Mrs. Jannette and Ms. Tiffany won Best Free Style Dancing.

*  BSMS Cheerleaders won 1st Place at a Cheerleading Competition in Madison High School!  Way to Go Bearcats!
